AKRON, Ohio – The Akron Roller Derby’s first home bout of the season is set for Saturday, April 16 at the Summit County Fairgrounds, 1100 North Ave., Tallmadge.

Doors open at 5 p.m., with the Akron Roller Derby All-Stars taking the track at 6 p.m. followed by the Akron Roller Derby AK Rowdy Rollers at 7:45 p.m.

The league features two teams: the Akron Roller Derby All-Stars, who compete for regional and national rankings, and the AK Rowdy Rollers, an intermediate team that competes against other leagues’ B-teams, but not for ranking. The Akron Roller Derby All-Stars are ranked at or around #153 out of 368 leagues in the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association rankings, according to the team’s website.

Presale tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children, not including service fees. Tickets at the door are $12 for adults and $7 for children. Children ages 4 and younger are free.

Spectators should use the fairground’s Route 91 (North Avenue) entrance. The physical address of the building where the bouts are held is 229 E. Howe Rd.

Additional home bouts are scheduled for June 11 and July 9 at the fairgrounds.
